We have some spots left. Signing up in person the day before (Saturday, MaY 15th) at Race Site from 2:00pm to 4:00pm is strongly advised.
On race morning, Sunday, May 16th - typically we allow up to 10 sign ups from 5:15am to 6:30am only.

| Wetsuit Rule |
Approved by USAT on 5/5/10.
All Piranha Sports events that are USAT Sanctioned will allow wetsuits if the water temperature is 78 degrees or less. Water temperatures are taken on race morning.
In the event the water temperature is 79 degrees or higher, no wetsuits will be allowed. |

Swim - .31 mile - triathlon - in-water start
- Expected water temperature around 66-72. Wetsuits allowed per USA Triathlon Rules.

Run – 1.86 miles - duathlon's first leg – Rolling out and back paved course.
- Start near swim start.

Bike - 15 miles – Hilly and scenic rural roads of Carroll County.
- Exit transition area in park and bike out west park exit.
- Turn left at Snydersburg Rd.
- Right at Hampstead Mexico Rd/MD-482. Sharp turn!! Slow down!!

- 2:00pm-4:00pm - Early packet pickup at transition area at Cascade Lake, 3000 Snydersburg Rd., Hampstead, MD 21074.
- 3:00pm - First Timers Meeting. "Open to all registered participants." This is an opportunity to review logistics of the race with a Piranha Sports staff member. It will involve reviewing packets, chip timing, transition area, rules, and tips.
- BRING YOUR BIKE AND HELMET for optional inspection at early packet pickup.

- 5:15am - 6:30am - Transition area opened. Late packet pickup. Body marking. LAST MINUTE BIKE AND HELMET optional inspections.
- 6:30am - Mandatory pre-race meeting.
- 6:45am - National Anthem.
- Waves below are based on last year's and is subject to change.
- 7:00am - 1st Wave. Duathlon Run's First Leg - Mass Start
- 7:05am - Swim - 2nd Wave.
- 7:05am - 2nd Wave. Triathlets. Men 39 and Under. Red Caps.
- 7:10am - 3rd Wave. Triathletes. Men 40 and Over; Clydesdales. White Caps.
- 7:15am - 4th Wave. Triathletes. All Females; Athenas. Blue Caps.
- 8:45am - Official Results Posted. This is your opportunity to review your own results. Once awards ceremony begins, all results are final.
- 9:00am - Post race party/awards. Awards will not be mailed.
- 9:00am - Transition area closed.
Race director/management may alter any part or distance of the event as dictated by event day conditions, such as weather. |

| absolutely NO refunds will be made for any reason. REFERRED TO AS “ENTRY FEES” ABOVE AND INCLUDES ENTRY FEES, PARTICIPANT SHIRTS, UPGRADED PRODUCTS, ANY OTHER AMENITIES, INSURANCE, AND ONLINE ADMINISTRATIVE FEES. MUST BE PRESENT TO RECEIVE ANY ITEMS as leftovers are distributed on day of race. WE DO NOT SHIP. ENTRY FEES CANNOT BE TRANSFERRED TO OTHER PERSONS OR APPLIED TOWARD future PIRANHA SPORTS EVENTS. Selling your race entry slot is strictly prohibited by piranha sports. If you do sell your race slot, you will be disqualified from the race and you, as well as the entrant who purchased your slot, will be unable to race in another Piranha Sports event for a minimum of 2 years. Piranha Sports reserves the right to reject any entry if a valid photo ID is not presented at race packet pick-up. There is NO rain date for the event. In cases of inclement weather, natural disaster, acts of God, acts of war or other unforeseen extraordinary circumstances, management reserves the right to cancel the event and/or modify the race course for safety concerns. Under such circumstances, there will be absolutely no refunds or transfer of entries to future Piranha Sports events. Each athlete must accept any such risk of their entry fee paid including other amenities paid for such as participate shirts, upgrade products, insurance, and online administrative fees. All monies collected are used to develop and produce the event, including all race supplies, staffing, and administration. We pledge to make every effort to produce a fair, safe and exciting event for all. Management reserves the right to reject or accept a race entry for any reason. By signing up for this race, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the terms listed on this page. |

| Spectator Information |
Parking
Free Parking available on the Cascade Lake grounds.
Athlete Support
Bring your cow bells, noise makers, posters, banners, and other items to cheer on your favorite athlete. Please keep in mind that spectators are not allowed to provide any outside assistance to the athletes. Outside assistance can result in penalties and possible disqualification. Outside assistance can include but is not limited to: transition area assistance, running or riding along with the athlete (pacing), handing off water bottles, etc. The Piranha Sports staff and volunteers will provide assistance as needed and allowed. As well, there will be no time during the event when spectators will be allowed in the secure transition area. If your athlete forgot an item for the transition area, please ask a Piranha Sports Staff member or volunteer to assist you in getting that item to the athlete.
Spectator Control
The Piranha Sports Staff and volunteers have your athlete’s safety and security as their primary responsibility. Therefore, there may be times during the course of the event that we will need to provide directions to spectators if we feel that the athletes do not have a clear and unobstructed path. Please pay close attention to these directions/instructions so that we are able to maintain the safety of every athlete.
Kids and Dogs
NO PETS ALLOWED IN THIS PARK. The Piranha Sports Staff loves having kids at the events. The kids are our future. If you do bring your children, please keep a close eye on them. Do not allow them to venture onto any of the roadways particularly near the mount/dismount area. As well, if your children bring bikes, please ensure that they are wearing helmets at all times.
