Event Summary
The race is designed to introduce youth to triathlons. This should be a fun exercise and not a high stress event.  

The race is limited to 75 registrants.  It is open to kids aged 7-12.  Unfortunately, we are not prepared for challenged youth.  

All children must be able to at least Doggie Paddle by themselves for this event.  PLEASE no non-swimmers.  Training wheels are allowed for the bikes if necessary.  All children must wear helmets.

Results will be available 30 minutes after the last runner finishes the race.

Swim - age as of December 31, 2009:
Aged 7, 8, 9 year olds = 50 meter indoor pool
Aged 10, 11, 12 year olds = 100 meter indoor pool

Bike:
Aged 7, 8, 9 year olds = 1 mile on paved surface around high school parking lot.
Aged 10, 11, 12 year olds = 2 miles on paved surface around high school parking lot.

Run:
Aged 7, 8, 9 year olds = 1/4 mile on paved surface.
Aged 10, 11, 12 year olds =  1/2 mile on paved surface.

North Penn High School is located at 1340 Valley forge Road, Lansdale, PA.

Take the Lansdale exit off the PA Turnpike N.E. Extension. 

FROM PHILADELHIA AND THE SOUTH

  • Merge onto I-76 W toward VALLEY FORGE. 12.6 miles
  • Merge onto I-476 N via EXIT 331B toward PLYMOUTH MTG (Portions toll). 14.7 miles 
  • Take the PA-63 exit- EXIT 31- toward LANSDALE. 0.5 miles
  • Take the PA-63 E ramp 
  • Turn Left onto SUMNEYTOWN PIKE / PA-63. Continue to follow PA-63.
  • Turn Left onto Valley Forge Road.
  • End at 1340 Valley Forge Road, Turn left into parking lot.

 FROM ALLENTOWN AND THE NORTH

  • Merge onto I-476 S toward PHILADELPHIA AND SOUTH (Portions toll). 26.7 miles
  • Take the PA-63 exit- EXIT 31- toward LANSDALE. 0.7 miles
  • Take the PA-63 E ramp
  • Turn Left onto SUMNEYTOWN PIKE / PA-63. Continue to follow PA-63.
  • Turn Left onto Valley Forge Road.
  • End at 1340 Valley Forge Road, Turn left into parking lot.

 FROM DOYLESTOWN

  • Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto E BUTLER AVE / US-202. Continue to follow US-202. 4.8 miles
  • Turn RIGHT onto COUNTY LINE RD. 2.1 miles
  • Turn LEFT onto LINE LEXINGTON RD. <0.1 miles
  • Turn LEFT onto BETHLEHEM PIKE / PA-309.
  • Turn right onto Broad Street. 
  • Turn right onto Main Street in Lansdale.
  • Turn left onto Valley Forge Road.
  • End at 1340 Valley Forge Road, Turn right into parking lot.

Race Itinerary
Saturday June 20, 2009
  • 8:00am - 8:45am - Registration.  Entrants pick up welcome packets, race numbers, get their Bikes and Helmets inspected, etc.  Registration closed at 8:45am, no later.  Please take your bike to the Transition area before coming to the registraiton tables.  Equipment will be inspected at the Transition area.  Click here for list of items to bring for the event. 
  • 8:45am to 9:00am - Mandatory pre-race meeting for all participants in the Gymnasium.
  • 9:15am - All participants need to be lined up by flights on the pool deck.  Volunteers and Life Guards will organize the lines.  Parents must move to the Viewing area.  NO Parents Allowed on DECK.
  • 9:30am - Race Starts for first Flight - 10-12 year olds.  Each participant swims 100 meters (4 laps).
  • 10:00am - Race starts for Second Flight - 7-9 year olds.  Each child in this age group swims 50 meters or 2 laps.  Depending on size of flights, this may be sooner or later than 10:00am.
  • As results are being determined, Participants and family are invited to enjoy the free refreshments provided by the race sponsors.
  • 11:15am-11:30am - Awards ceremony.  Should be available 30 minutes after last runner finishes.
