Sprint Swim - .31 miles (500 meters) 1 lap. In the beautiful freshwater Shawnee Lake.

Half Swim - 1.2 miles 2 laps.
Sprint Bike - 10.5 miles (17K) - 1 lap of a rolling course with two moderate climbs near mile 2 and mile 8. One fast downhill from mile 3 to 4 before covered bridge. Open course (not closed to vehicular traffic).
Exit TA next to playground and ride up Handicapped Access road
Go through parking area and turn right on Park Road., 0.5 mile
Turn left at next park road intersection toward Route 30.
Right onto Route 30 (Exit Park), 1.0 mile
Right onto Tulls Hill Road, 2.7 mile
Left across Herline Covered Bridge, 4.9 mile
Right onto 31S, 5.3 mile
Right onto 96S, 6.3 mile
Right onto 96N, 8.1 mile
Right and enter Shawnee State Park, 9.3 mile
Follow across two bridges and turn right into main parking area, 10.3 mile
Cross parking lot and take path to Dismount (CAUTION-Slow Down)
Half Bike - 54 miles (87K). One early climb at mile 2 followed by a fast descent to covered bridge. 2 laps of the main loop that is flat to rolling with one long gradual climb (3% average) and one fast descent (6% average)! Open course (not closed to vehicular traffic).

Saturday, August 22, 2009
- 2:00pm-5:00pm - Early packet pickup near beach area at Shawnee State Park. For Mapquest purposes, try 132 State Park Road, Schellsburg, PA 15559.
- 4:00pm - First Timers Meeting. "Open to all registered participants." This is an opportunity to review logistics of the race with a Piranha Sports staff member. It will involve reviewing packets, chip timing, transition area, rules, and tips.
- BRING YOUR BIKE AND HELMET for optional inspection at early packet pickup.
Sunday, August 23, 2009
- 5:15am - 6:30am - Transition area opened. Located near beach area of Shawnee State Park. For Mapuest purposes, try 132 State Park Road, Schellsburg, PA 15559. Late packet pickup. Body marking. LAST MINUTE BIKE AND HELMET optional inspections.
- 6:30am - Mandatory pre-race meeting.
- 6:45am - National Anthem.
- Waves are subject to change.
- 7:00am - Swim - 1st Wave. All Half Iron Competitors. Yellow Caps.
- 8:00am - Swim - 2nd Wave (Sprint Course) = 0.31 mile. All Sprint Competitors. Orange Caps.
- 9:30am - Penalty list posted by head official for Sprint Competitors.
- 9:45am - Official Results for Sprint Competitors posted for purposes of awards.
- 10:00am - Post race part/awards for Sprint Competitors. Awards will not be mailed.
- 10:00am - Transition area closed for Sprint Competitors.
- 12:30pm - Cut off time for bike leg. 12mph average for this flat bike course if started by 8:10am.
- 1:45pm - Penalty list posted by head official.
- 2:00pm - Official Results posted for purposes of awards.

| absolutely NO refunds will be made for any reason. REFERRED TO AS “ENTRY FEES” ABOVE AND INCLUDES ENTRY FEES, PARTICIPANT SHIRTS, UPGRADED PRODUCTS, ANY OTHER AMENITIES, INSURANCE, AND ONLINE ADMINISTRATIVE FEES. MUST BE PRESENT TO RECEIVE ANY ITEMS as leftovers are distributed on day of race. WE DO NOT SHIP. ENTRY FEES CANNOT BE TRANSFERRED TO OTHER PERSONS OR APPLIED TOWARD future PIRANHA SPORTS EVENTS. Selling your race entry slot is strictly prohibited by piranha sports. If you do sell your race slot, you will be disqualified from the race and you, as well as the entrant who purchased your slot, will be unable to race in another Piranha Sports event for a minimum of 2 years. Piranha Sports reserves the right to reject any entry if a valid photo ID is not presented at race packet pick-up. There is NO rain date for the event. In cases of inclement weather, natural disaster, acts of God, acts of war or other unforeseen extraordinary circumstances, management reserves the right to cancel the event and/or modify the race course for safety concerns. Under such circumstances, there will be absolutely no refunds or transfer of entries to future Piranha Sports events. Each athlete must accept any such risk of their entry fee paid including other amenities paid for such as participate shirts, upgrade products, insurance, and online administrative fees. All monies collected are used to develop and produce the event, including all race supplies, staffing, and administration. We pledge to make every effort to produce a fair, safe and exciting event for all. Management reserves the right to reject or accept a race entry for any reason. By signing up for this race, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the terms listed on this page. |

| Spectator Information |
Parking
Spectator (as well as athlete) parking is available on the park grounds.
Athlete Support
Bring your cow bells, noise makers, posters, banners, and other items to cheer on your favorite athlete. Please keep in mind that spectators are not allowed to provide any outside assistance to the athletes. Outside assistance can result in penalties and possible disqualification. Outside assistance can include but is not limited to: transition area assistance, running or riding along with the athlete (pacing), handing off water bottles, etc. The Piranha Sports staff and volunteers will provide assistance as needed and allowed. As well, there will be no time during the event when spectators will be allowed in the secure transition area. If your athlete forgot an item for the transition area, please ask a Piranha Sports Staff member or volunteer to assist you in getting that item to the athlete.
Spectator Control
The Piranha Sports Staff and volunteers have your athlete’s safety and security as their primary responsibility. Therefore, there may be times during the course of the event that we will need to provide directions to spectators if we feel that the athletes do not have a clear and unobstructed path. Please pay close attention to these directions/instructions so that we are able to maintain the safety of every athlete.
Kids and Dogs
Dogs are allowed on the trails and day use areas of Shawnee State Park, but they are not allowed on any sand areas, at the beach shoreline, or in any of the buildings. The Piranha Sports Staff loves having kids and dogs at the events. The kids are our future and the dogs are just great. If you do bring your children and/or pets, please keep a close eye on them. Do not allow them to venture onto any of the roadways particularly near the mount/dismount area. As well, if your children bring bikes, please ensure that they are wearing helmets at all times.
