Event Summary
  • Fun for the entire family!!
  • Participants and spectators will appreciate the exciting view of the beautiful Chesapeake Bay and North Beach.
  • Proceeds will towards funding communities to engage in Integrative Health/Integrative Medicine solutions for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress (PTS). 
  • Join us for the event and the Wellness Fair held on the day of the event.  This is a collaboration with the host community.

  • About Tri-Forces:  Tri-Forces stands for the forces of nature as exhibited in Land, Air and Water. We leverage these forces through the triathlon event … hence Tri-Forces Triathlon.     Course
    • Swim - 1/4 mile in the beautiful Chesapeake Bay.  Rectangular swim.  Subject to change.
      • In water start
      • Keep buoys on your right at all times
      • Exit onto beach
    • Bike - 12.4 miles - Looped bike course.  Moderately challenging course with some moderate climbs
      • The bike course is not closed to vehicular traffic but will have some police and volunteer coverage.
      • Head South on Bay Avenue towards 1st Street
      • Right onto 1st Street
      • Left onto Chesapeake Avenue/Bayside Road (Route 261) heading south
      • Right onto Chesapeake Beach Road (Route 260) heading west
      • Right onto Old Solomons Island Road (Route 778).  On this corner there is a gas station on the right hand side.
      • Right onto Friendship Road (Route 261) heading east
      • At the "y" intersection of Boyds Turn Road and Friendship Road - turn left to stay on Friendship Road (Route 261)
      • Friendship Road (Route 261) name changes to Old Colony Cove Road, lake Shore Drive, and Walnut Avenue.  Stay on Route 261 along the water's edge
      • When approaching closer to North Beach, the road name will become Bay Avenue.
      • Stay on Bay Avenue and head to transition area located between 5th and 3rd Streets.
      • Flow through transition area.
    • Run - 3.6 miles - flat.  Out and back course.  Subject to change.
      • Head out of transition area near 3rd Street and U-turn onto bike path along transition area heading North.
      • Head north on the bike path (located between Bay Avenue and boardwalk) and stay on Bay Avenue
      • On the entire run course, always hug the water's edge of road as bikers are heading back on the same road.  Stay to the left of each other while running on the run course.
      • Take Bay Avenue (Route 261) north bound for 1.8 miles and u-turn to the right at the water stop located at Walnut Avenue and Albany Avenue.
      • Head back in same direction to finish line on the boardwalk near Welcome Center.

    Race Itinerary

    Friday, September 28, 2012

    • 6:00pm-8:00pm - Early packet pickup at the corner of Bay Avenue and 5th Street, North Beach, MD.
    • 7:00pm - First Timers Meeting.  "Open to all registered participants."  This is an opportunity to review logistics of the race with a Piranha Sports staff member.  It will involve reviewing packets, chip timing, transition area, rules, and tips.

    Saturday, September 29, 2012

    • 6:00am-7:30am - Last minute packet pickup at the corner of Bay Avenue and 5th Street, North Beach, MD.
    • 6:00am - 7:30am - Transition area opened.  Located on Bay Avenue between 5th Street and 3rd Street, North Beach, MD.
    • 7:30am - Mandatory pre-race meeting.  Transition area closed.  All athletes must clear transition area.
    • 7:45am - National Anthem.
    • 8:00am - Wave 1.  Wave assignments to be determined.
    • 8:05am - Wave 2. 
    • 8:10am - Wave 3.
    • 8:15am - Wave 4.
    • 9:45am - Official results posted.  This is your opportunity to review your own results.  Once awards ceremony begins, all results are final.
    • 10:00am - Post race party/awards.  Awards will not be mailed.
    • 10:00am - Transition area closed.

    Race Director/management may alter any part or distance of the event as dicted by event day conditions, such as weather.

    No Refunds, No Tranfers, No Deferrals Under Any Circumstances.

    absolutely NO refunds will be made for any reason. REFERRED TO AS “ENTRY FEES” ABOVE AND INCLUDES ENTRY FEES, PARTICIPANT SHIRTS, UPGRADED PRODUCTS, ANY OTHER AMENITIES, INSURANCE, AND ONLINE ADMINISTRATIVE FEES. MUST BE PRESENT TO RECEIVE ANY ITEMS as leftovers are distributed on day of race. WE DO NOT SHIP. ENTRY FEES CANNOT BE TRANSFERRED TO OTHER PERSONS OR APPLIED TOWARD future PIRANHA SPORTS EVENTS. Selling your race entry slot is strictly prohibited by piranha sports.
    If you do sell your race slot, you will be disqualified from the race and you, as well as the entrant who purchased your slot, will be unable to race in another Piranha Sports event for a minimum of 2 years. Piranha Sports reserves the right to reject any entry if a valid photo ID is not presented at race packet pick-up. There is NO rain date for the event. In cases of inclement weather, natural disaster, acts of God, acts of war or other unforeseen extraordinary circumstances, management reserves the right to cancel the event and/or modify the race course for safety concerns. Under such circumstances, there will be absolutely no refunds or transfer of entries to future Piranha Sports events. Each athlete must accept any such risk of their entry fee paid including other amenities paid for such as participate shirts, upgrade products, insurance, and online administrative fees. All monies collected are used to develop and produce the event, including all race supplies, staffing, and administration. We pledge to make every effort to produce a fair, safe and exciting event for all. Management reserves the right to reject or accept a race entry for any reason. By signing up for this race, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the terms listed on this page.
