Your Help is Needed for Club Championship

Piranha Sports is excited to once again apply for the USAT Mid-Atlantic Regional Club Championship at the Diamond in the Rough venue.  But we need your help and would appreciate as many letters of support to host this event on 7/11/09.  Please send us a letter of support along with your club affiliation by this Thursday, February 26th to nsemmel@piranha-sports.com.  As many of you are aware, this venue hosted the championship in year's past and we'd love to bring it back!!

The annual Brandywine Valley Duathlon is only 40 days away!  Be sure to sign up to"dust off those cob webs" - from ourselves and our bikes!!   
Situated in the heart of the beautiful Brandywine Valley.  Space is limited at this popular duathlon.  Last year we had over 300 participants and expect more this year!

DiamondGirl Series

The inaugural DiamondGirl™ Series will be held in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New York.  The women's only triathlon will feature mostly sprint distances and count towards the Greater Atlantic Club Challenge.  This is a great opportunity for women of all ages to compete among their "peers" as well as for beginners to become familiar with the sport of triathlon.
 
Moms, plan a weekend with your kids and register for DiamondGirl™ Delaware for you and Escape from School Youth Triathlon for your kids.  The youth triathlon is held at the same venue, Lums Pond State Park, the day before DiamondGirl™ Delaware. 


Club Rebate Program 
dollar symbolWe are also offering the same "Club Rebate Program" for signing up for any of our series races by 3/15/09. Simply sign yourself up and your club members by selecting your club name in the club drop down list. If your club name is not there, please email us (nsemmel@piranha-sports.com) and we'll put it up there.

For the Club Rebate Program, there will be a minimum of at least 35 sign ups required (i.e. - you have 12 club members who sign up for 3 series races - you have a total of 36 and qualify). We will donate $3 X # of sign ups to your club. This a chance for your clubs to use the money as you wish - banquets, travel, and uniforms.

Per request from many club members - all 3 of our series are now part of the Greater Atlantic Club Challenge and qualify in this club rebate program.

Pittsburgh Triathlon & Adventure Race
The annual Pittsburgh Triathlon & Adventure Race is in it's 12th season and features a new Sprint Distance.  Join us for this special weekend on July 25th and 26th with an EXPO, Olympic distance triathlon, sprint triathlon, and adventure race. 
 
This triathlon is managed by Piranha Sports and is one of the most unique triathlons with the exciting backdrops of the beautiful city of Pittsburgh at the famous three rivers!!  This is a race you do not want to miss. 
 
Proceeds of this event benefit Friends of the Riverfront, a Pittsburgh-based non-profit organization created to restore, promote, expand and protect Pittsburgh's river resources. 

Greater Atlantic Club Challenge 
All 3 Series Count!!
GACC no datePer request from many club members - all 3 of our series are now part of the Greater Atlantic Club Challenge.  The 3 series that are now part of the Greater Atlantic Club Challenge are: Greater Atlantic Multisport Series, DiamondGirl™Series, and The Escape from School Youth Series.  Now individuals aged 7 to 99 all contribute their points toward their clubs for a chance to win the end of year cash prizes!! 


Escape from School Youth Series 
EFSYS with yellowStarting with the Indian Valley Y Youth Triathlon in April, following up with the Escape from School Youth Triathlon in June, and ending with the Lums Pond Youth Triathlon in August - kids aged 7 to 14 (USAT age up rule applies) can compete and earn series points just like the adults.
 
There is also a great opportunity for families to make a "triathlon weekend" on June 6th and 7th and on August 15th and 16th.  At the June event, the DiamondGirl™ Delaware Triathlon is the next day which is a great opportunity for Moms to join their kids in the fun.  At the August Event, the entire family can join in the fun at the famous Lums Pond Triathlon and Duathlon the next day.
 
The Escape from School Youth Series score points in the same manner as the adult version of the Greater Atlantic Multisport Series.  In addition, their points count towards the Greater Atlantic Club Challenge - a great opportunity for kids to help win the Club Challenge!

Greater Atlantic Multisport Series 
GAMS logo no dateThe series is in full swing again and will feature the same ranking point system as last year.  The individual points earned from each event counts towards the Greater Atlantic Club Challenge.  Earning points is earned by simply finishing the event with up to 10 points per race to be earned by the overall winners.  For details on the series, click here.
